Merino Baby Thermal Singlets
Our merino baby thermal wool singlets are made from 100% super soft rib Merino wool. They make the perfect base layer for under long sleeved tops on colder days and nights. The rib merino provides extra stretch for ultimate comfort, and with low micron merino it is extra soft and silky to touch. Great as a layer to be worn next to sensitive skin. The rib material traps air around the body, helping to create a micro climate around your child keeping them warm. Our merino baby singlets are a great essential clothing item providing an extra warm layer of clothing.
As babies are unable to regulate their temperature until they are approximately 2-3 months of age, it is important to make sure they don’t get too hot or too cold. Using a merino baby wool singlet will help keep their temperature consistent. The normal temperature for a baby is 36.5°C – 37.5°C. In the first 24 hours of life babies often get cold, so it is important to keep them wrapped up ideally in baby thermals or similar garments.

Why Merino wool
Non Irritating
Our super fine New Zealand knit merino is typically 19 micron – in comparison a human hair is 50 microns. Due to the fineness of the wool it has natural elastic properties meaning it is very stretchy and has a silky soft feel making it lovely to put against delicate skin. It stretches with your child’s movements yet always retaining its original shape. This makes it so comfortable to wear and non itchy. Merino has also been linked with lowering skin allergies.
Lightweight
Due to the fine fibres in the Merino wool – the fabric is lightweight. The lightweight fabric – provides extreme warmth to weight ratio. Being lightweight it is super soft and comfortable against young sensitive skin. Our merino is extremely fine spun making it super soft and comfortable.
Easy Care
Merino fibres are strong and long, enabling a durable fabric that is less likely to pill, and has excellent drape and wrinkle recovery and the garments are gentle machine washable. However you must use wool detergent and do not soak or bleach or holes will develop in the garments.
The best way to care for your merino baby singlets is to machine wash on gentle cycle or wool cycle. Can be tumble dried on cool setting. Do not soak or bleach as this may result in holes in the fabric.
